British Charcoal
The truly superior alternative

This section provides news of forthcoming shows at which The Dorset Charcoal Company will be exhibiting, seasonal notes on the current locations being worked, latest business news, as well as all other loose ends.

The Dorset Charcoal Co. will again be the official charcoal wholesaler for the 2008 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Arts at the end of June.

Our charcoal was used this year at the spectacular Inside Out Festival of Light in Bournemouth Gardens at the end of the summer.

We shall be exhibiting at the fourth Stock Gaylard Oak Fair Sat 23th August 2007 for more details visit www.stockgaylard.com

With The Dorset Coppice Group we were present at the Cranborne Chase Woodfair 20th and 21st October 2007 at the Larmer Tree Grounds.

To avoid disappointment, if you particularly wish to visit the company at any of the shows it is always worth contacting us nearer the time, as due to the seasonal nature of the business, plans have a habit of changing!

The Dorset Charcoal Co has recently been featured on the ITV Local Regional show Country Lives aired across the south of England. This proved to be a lovely piece of filming explaining what we get up to and why!

2008 will see some of our product going halfway around the world to Antarctica. Although this sort of goes against the grain of what we are trying to achieve, we believe the cause is a good one. Having spent the last couple of years on a mission clearing tons of rubbish from Antarctica the organisation www.2041.com are looking to establish a truly sustainable educational base. To this end the first expedition sets out next year armed with wind and solar power generators and some of Dorset`s finest sustainable charcoal to help with the cooking!

It is proposed to run a one day introductory course on charcoal burning to be held at the living classroom at Bonsley Wood near Blandford on Sat 5th April 2008

Please email enquiries@dorsetcharcoal.co.uk for more details.
