The Dorset Charcoal Company has recently been featured on the ITV Local Regional show Country Lives aired across the south of England. This proved to be a lovely piece of filming explaining what we get up to and why! Repeated nationwide more recently.
Dorset charcoal was used at the spectacular Inside Out Festival of Light in Bournemouth Gardens at the end of the summer of 2008.
Over the years we have supplied our charcoal for a myriad of uses,
including;
Charcoal powder supplied to cosmetics firm for the production of soap among other products.
Softwood charcoal supplied to research companies for laboratory testing has extended beyond these shores to France and Germany.
Charcoal supplied for props in the production of “Dead Woman`s Ditch” ... the story of a murderous charcoal burner!
Charcoal powder used as a poxylan and pigment in mortar by specialised building firms for restoration of Windsor Castle among many other conservation building projects.
Charcoal powder of different species supplied to artists and firework manufacturers.
Oak and chestnut charcoal has been supplied to aid in a number of Iron Age Smelting Experiments.
