Pizza Oven Faggots

Hazel Pizza Faggots

Increasingly in UK gardens and pubs are the arrival of clay fired pizza ovens. These are much the same as traditional bread ovens. A chamber enclosed by a refractory material such as stone, brick, adobe, or refractory concrete. These ovens were traditionally heated with faggots, wood, straw, or some other locally available combustible material.

In an attempt to find a use for lower value coppice material The Dorset Charcoal Company in collaboration with local Dorset coppice workers are offering hazel faggots for the perfect Pizza Oven firing experience.

Faggots are tight bundles (2' length) of small diameter branches and twigs that give an intense rapid heat into the surrounds of a pizza oven. Not only by purchasing our faggots will you of found the most efficient way of firing your oven, but  you will also be contributing to the future health and vitality of our coppice woodlands.
